An awful lot has been said about Britney Spears checking in a mental health facility in the United States once again. The online tabloid TMZ denies the stories published on Britney’s Gram podcast and claims that the singer entered the institution by her own will. According to the site, what made Spears look for a new treatment was a change on her psychiatric medication, something that must be done very carefully or it could even kill her.
“Britney’s doctors were adjusting her meds which had lost their efficacy. Britney’s mental health issues were stabilized with a cocktail of medicines that were designed specifically her. Over time, those meds were increasingly ineffective and doctors needed to create a new cocktail. We’re told there were problems. First, they had to wean Britney off the existing meds. This cannot be done quickly and there’s a risk of suicide if it’s not done right — it’s that serious,” says TMZ.
The psychiatric medication trasition is very serious. The cocktail that was created for Britney Spears didn’t work and made her “unstable and unwilling to cooperate with doctors”. According to TMZ, doctors believe that her admission to the facility was at her best interest and helped them to find the right meds for her.
TMZ also claims that Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, who is also her legal tutor, did not force her admission. “The type of conservatorship Britney has — through the probate court — does not allow a conservator to force someone into a mental health facility. […] Jamie is adamant — he did not want his daughter to go to the facility because he thought it would leak out to the media and he felt there were better ways of solving her problems,” says the site.
