Everyone has that song they love. The one you go to a concert in expectation to hear… and sometimes you don’t! Yes, we’ve been there too, we understand. But there are some songs, from a lot of famous artists, that have never been sung live. Like never!
We list some curious cases.
1. Beyoncé – “Walk on Water” (with Eminem)
Number 14 on Billboard Hot 100. Number 7 on the UK. Platinum in Canada.
Beyoncé didn’t make herself available for the release of the song. Eminem appeared in awards and TV shows with Skylar Gray, which replaced Beyoncé’s vocals. Skylar is the songwriter and producer of the song. In her own shows, the pop star did not include the track on the setlist either.
2. Britney Spears – “Criminal”
97 million YouTube hits.
Single from “Femme Fatale” (2011), but it didn’t get any televising marketing. Turned out that Britney never perform this song because it didn’t get the expected result, so never entered the setlist of any tour or residency of the Princess of Pop.
3. RBD – Para Olvidarte de Mí
Top 40 in Mexico.
First and only single from the group’s last album. The album came out in 2009 and RBD has been out of business since December of 2008, the song has never really been sung live.
4. Selena Gomez – “It Ain’t Me” (with Kygo)
The single came out early 2017, a moment when no one knew, but Selena Gomez was living a nightmare. She discovered that she was very ill, needed a kidney transplant, received a donation from a friend, went through the operation and start the recovering process. The track was an instant hit, but Selena didn’t even made the music video. After all, Selena was at rehab a few times and, since than, did not make her stage comeback. No performance of “It Is not Me”.
Number 10 on Billboard Hot 100. Top 10 in several countries. Diamond in France. Multiplatinum in several countries.
5 .Zayn – Pillowtalk
Number 1 on Billboard Hot 100, on UK and several countries. Diamond in Poland.
The first single from Zayn’s solo career was a global pop, but the singer never did a live performance. “He just doesn’t think ‘Pillowtalk’ sounds good live, which is interesting being it’s the first single. If there’s something you don’t feel good about doing, you’re probably going to avoid it, said KISS radio director John Ivey.
