Currently in North American with her “Sweetener Tour”, Ariana Grande once again showed how important her songs are to her. The singer got emotional during the performance of her hit “thank u, next” in Washington D.C.
The song, which names some of her exes, talks about Mac Miller, Ariana Grande’s ex-boyfriend who died in 2018. Ariana could not hold back her emotion and remained in silence for a few seconds. The backup dancers helped her, comforting her.

Ariana Grande acknowledged her emotions on Twitter, where she stated: “thanks for accepting my humanness. It’s super emo and difficult singing some of these songs, but you make me smile. I look like Penny Pinglet here. I love u and thanks. I feel your warmth up there and it helps and is greatly appreciated”.
